We understand that affording a Trident Academy education can be a stretch for some families. We are here to help you navigate the process of applying for assistance.
Families are encouraged to apply for an Educational Credit for Exceptional Needs Children (ECENC) grant. Please go to the ExceptionalSC.org for information concerning eligibility and how to apply.
Trident Academy values a diverse student body in terms of socio-economic, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. The decision to admit a student is based solely on the student’s learning profile and personal conduct. Similarly, Trident Academy’s Tuition Support Program is based solely on the family’s demonstrated financial needs, including the family’s net income and assets, the number of dependents in the household, and the number of children attending tuition-based academic institutions. Allowances are made for certain taxes, medical costs, and unusual expenses.
If there are extenuating circumstances that you believe further impact your ability to pay the tuition due, you are encouraged to write a letter of explanation. The Tuition Support Committee maintains strict confidentiality of all financial information.
Families interested in applying for tuition support must file a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS), the official application provided by Trident Academy and FACTS Grant and Aid. Online submission through FACTS Grant and Aid is available at online.factsmgt.com/aid.
Families with more than one child in an independent school are only required to complete one PFS form; FACTS will send the information to each school whose code number is indicated on the PFS. The code for Trident Academy is 904648. We recommend that you start the FACTS Grant adn Aid application process as early as February 1. Your 1040 and all schedules are required in addition to the PFS. If you have not yet completed your 1040, you should include your W-2s and/or 1099s with your submission. The Tuition Support Committee will meet on or around April 10 to consider the applications submitted for re-enrolling students followed by those for new students.
*Applying for tuition support is an annual process. Those who received grants in previous years are re-evaluated in relation to current circumstances before tuition support is awarded.*
